The process group where a project kick-off meeting is typically conducted is the Initiating group. During this phase, the project is formally authorized, and the foundational elements are established. The kick-off meeting serves as the starting point for the project where essential stakeholders come together to discuss the project's objectives, goals, and overall vision. This gathering helps ensure everyone is aligned and sets clear expectations for what lies ahead.

By engaging key team members and stakeholders in this initial meeting, the project manager fosters collaboration and builds enthusiasm, which are crucial for effectively launching the project. The focus during this phase is on defining the scope and gaining formal approval, making it the ideal time to gather support and clarify responsibilities among team members before the detailed planning begins.
